01 – STEAM & THERMAL OIL
VTO-SYST is the complete thermal fluid heating system used for this high-intensity process heating.
They are high temperature process heating systems, using a special appropriate oil-based thermal fluid, a so-called Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) as the circulating heat carrier.
All oil types are flammable and are thus potentially dangerous. The temperatures in these heating systems are very high, and huge thermal extensions appear everywhere. Special materials are chosen, and special procedures and standards must be followed. You must never compromise on anything.
Therefore, the delivery of a thermal oil heater in a new system should be subject to a detailed review of the actual technical circumstances i.e. the system design.
It is extremely important that the whole system is made correct – a single mistake can cause fatal consequences.
It is essential to have a qualified and experienced partner to assist you in design of the thermal oil heating system – both from a safety and an economical point of view.
Design according to DIN 4754, Danish Fire Safety Regulations, PED 2014/68/EU & EN-standards. CE-marked and with full documentation.
These types of heating systems are used for high-performance industrial processes – for instance spray-drying systems that often require very high temperatures to achieve maximum performance.
These heaters become an attractive alternative to the steam – mainly due to much higher operating temperatures on the heating media (HTF), and thereby able to maintain a low system pressure (often atmospheric pressure).
There are numerous other advantages for using thermal oil heating, including significant less overall operation costs. But there are also disadvantages that are worth knowing about.
Process heating solutions with thermal oil (heat transfer fluid) does require different mandatory and very special design of components comprising the thermal oil heater / boiler, heat exchangers, consumers, pumps, tanks, armatures, instrumentation, piping design etc.
The capacity of the systems corresponds off course the capacity of the heater as appear in the table “Technical data”.
Typical capacities, dimension tables, diagrams, illustrations, photos with examples are collected in our Technical Knowledge Center.
